making the ordinary... extraordinary!

to go with the colors in her wall decor and her bedding, i hung 3 decorative little lamp shades at staggered heights.
this is not a good photo of the whole thing bc the angle you can't see how the ceiling hangings and wall hangings play off each other but really i am very pleased with how this project turned out
this little table is actually a tv tray that i found in my garage that i painted and distressed to go with the look and the feel of the room. i'm very pleased with how it has turned out.
this mirror is something they already had and it has been in several rooms used several ways. this time we painted it white and antiqued it and hung it above her french provincial styled dresser and it pulls it together very nicely.
her bedding has butterflies in it and i just knew that when i saw these that they would be perfect for her room. these were all kind of a plaster color so i picked out some prominent colors in her bedding and room decor and painted the butterflies accordingly and they make a beautifully sweet addition to her room
this coat rack was going to be thrown away...and you know what they say...one mans trash is another mans treasure. i couldn't leave this piece out, especially with the character it has and how well it fits in this room

this table was almost trashed, it was left outside in the weather and it cracked and split some but it added so much character that once we threw some black paint on it, it fit in perfectly with the theme we are going for. it's amazing what you can do with something that you may just try to throw away.
this is just a simple toy box at the foot of the "princess bed" because every princess needs a place for her royal subjects (barbies, toys, etc) to rest and relax.
this table turned out very well... i took an old round table and painted it black and then with some pink paint, simply free handed her first initial on it for a customized look, that she loves because it has "her name on it"
this was a thrift store find that was almost passed by... spray painted it black and we have a beautiful candle holder that fits perfectly into my princess niece's room
i wish i had a before picture of this mirror...it was a horrible brown color and looked very old and very outdated...it was also a thrift store find that i simply spray painted black to achieve a "princess mirror" for the room that will be able to grow with her and be age appropriate for years to come!
